I am looking for some extra side jobs in order to save for my husband's immigration to Canada. With today's crappy paying jobs, he will need to work because it's a constant struggle to do so on my own. Don't get me wrong, it's possible, but the amount of stress is crazy!

So I've edited a little and have lowered my prices for the time being.

Okay, so I figured it's about time I post something regarding commissions that I do accept. I've mostly been sticking to people that I know, or people that know the people I know. I will now accept them online.

First of all, if you do wish to commission me, keep in mind that I will need enough time to complete what it is you wish. The larger the size and level of detail will play a factor, as will other factors such as how busy I am etc. You may either send me a note through DA, or, if you do not have a DA account, an email to candacewiebe@gmail.com will suffice.

Be sure to include a description of what it is you wish to have done, the size you are aiming for,(I can only do up to A3 for the moment), and when you need it done by. Any reference photos sent to me will be evaluated and I will give you a full description of what I can do with it and how much it will cost. I will first do a basic sketch of the drawing and send a low resolution, watermarked version of it to you and if it looks like it's going the way you want, I will require a 30% downpayment before I continue. This is much cheaper than what most ask for. This initial sketch can take me up to 4 hours to complete. Also, please keep in mind that if you're looking for quality detail, high resolution photos are probably best. It will also help if there is a good deal of contrast and shadows, though I can adjust this myself if necessary.

If you wish to have your portrait framed, please let me know when you email me. This will cost extra. I will need to know this as well as where the portrait will need to be shipped so I can figure out the cost of shipping as well. You will be getting the original drawing. You will also need to keep in mind that I will be posting the portrait on DA as well as an art album on my Facebook account unless otherwise specified.

As for payment, I will accept Paypal as well as money orders. If not in Canada, I will require an international money order, of course. I will not accept checks. I will also accept INTERAC email money transfers.

Something like this [link] I would charge $100. The size is A3 and it took many many hours. There is a lot of detail involved and it's probably my personal favorite. It's also for sale if anyone wants to buy.  This is another sample of the same size [link] . This one is not for sale unless I can get permission from the photographer I got the reference photo from.

This [link] is another commission I did and I received $250, frame included. 8x10. However, I would probably reduce the price to $125, based on size and detail. Keep in mind with three people in an 8x10, they will be a bit smaller. If you wish for an 8x10 with only one person, the price will be adjusted accordingly based on size of the person or animal, and level of detail. If you want bigger than an 8x10 with more than one person, the cost per extra person will range between $40 and $60. All of this will be specified in the email I send you. Prices will of course be cheaper the smaller you go, but keep in mind that smaller may mean less detail. Human portraits are more my comfort zone so if animals are requested, the cost may be slightly higher, depending on the references provided. These will take me longer to finish. Once I become more adjusted to this particular theme, I will lower the prices. Colored pencil portraits will also be higher priced for similar reasons.
